The Executive Order of May 1st and the Blockade Measures Announced Further Increase the Harm to the Cuban Population and Reinforce the Threat of Aggression

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejects, in the strongest possible terms, the Executive Order issued by the White House on May 1st, 2026, which tightens, to unprecedented and extreme levels, the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.

It likewise condemns the decision adopted by the US Treasure Department on May 7, 2026, to include the Cuban entities GAESA and MoaNickel S.A. in the Specially Designated Nationals List, being this the first coercive measure resulting from the order signed on May 1st.

Cuba and Egypt Call for Strengthening Interparliamentary Relations

Cairo, May 5, 2026. At the House of Representatives building in the new capital, Cuba’s Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, held a cordial meeting with Sameh Shoukry, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Egyptian Parliament.

The Cuban diplomat conveyed to Sameh Shoukry the congratulations of the President of the National Assembly of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and the Chairman of the International Relations Committee, Alberto Núñez Betancourt, on his election as head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Egyptian Parliament.

Cuban Ambassador to Egypt Holds Meeting with Representative of Palestine’s Fatah Movement

Cairo, April 30, 2026. Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga held a cordial meeting with the representative of the Fatah Movement in Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Ghareeb.

During the meeting, they discussed the historic brotherly relations between Cuba and Palestine and the genocidal policies being imposed against our countries. They also agreed that resistance is the only path forward for our peoples.
