Statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, through X.
Havana, February 21, 2026 — Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla wrote on his X account:
Cuba poses no threat to any country. Our foreign policy is peaceful, supportive, and committed to peace, friendship, and cooperation. It respects international law and the UN Charter.
Cairo, February 19, 2026. The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Egypt conveyed its warm congratulations to Muslims in Egypt and Cuba on the start of the holy month of Ramadan through its social media accounts.
The Cuban diplomatic mission wished peace, health, and prosperity to all those who practice Islam.
Cairo, February 17, 2026. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla rejected Israel's policies of annexation and construction of new settlements in the West Bank, which violate international law and disregard resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly.
On his social media account, the head of Cuban diplomacy stated that these measures undermine the exercise of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, seek to prevent the recognition of an independent Palestinian state, and undermine efforts toward peace in the Middle East.
Cairo, February 17, 2026. More than half a dozen Egyptian newspapers reported on their websites the African Union's support for Cuba in its fight against the blockade and the new sanctions imposed by the United States government on the Cuban people.
The reports state that the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) approved, for the 17th consecutive time, a resolution on February 15 condemning the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba.
Cairo, February 16, 2026. The Al-WAFD Party of Egypt sent a letter to the Cuban Ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, expressing its solidarity with the island and condemning any unilateral measures that affect the sovereignty of states and the rights of peoples.
In the letter, the Party's Foreign Relations Committee expressed its full solidarity with the call to defend peace and respect for international law, and its absolute rejection of any violation of international law, international treaties and norms, as well as interference in the internal affairs of states. The Committee emphasized the need to preserve the unity, territorial integrity, and independence of all countries.
