Celebration of the Day of National Rebellion in Norway

Oslo, Norway.- In an emotional activity, friends of Cuba in Norway celebrated the 68th anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos M. de Céspedes garrisons, a feat that marked a turning point in the struggle for true independence and led to in the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959.

During the event, the Charge d'Affaires a.i. from Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, took the floor, denouncing the economic war to which his country has been subjected for more than six decades, which has had a severe impact on the life of his people. However, he added, it is gratifying to confirm that Cuba is not alone and has the support of friends like those present at this celebration.

The activity took place at the headquarters of the Venezuelan embassy in Oslo and was the appropriate setting to also commemorate the anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista Front for National Liberation in Nicaragua (July 19, 1979) and the independence of Venezuela (5 July 1811).

In the heat of the latter, the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic, Orlando Ortegano, addressed the public.

The event was also attended by local musicians, who performed songs from Latin American authors, associated with the fight for social equality. (Embacuba Norway)
