The Embassy of Cuba celebrated International Women's Day this March 8 in the company of entrepreneurs, diplomats and women from the various spheres of the Egyptian political sector, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba's country and friends.
During the presentation of the meeting, Tania Aguiar Fernández, Cuba's Ambassador to Egypt said: " If we celebrate International Women's Day today, we must mention the sacrifices and struggles of many women to defend their rights throughout history; the women of today clearly show their great ability to distinguish themselves in any professional and academic field".
He also stressed that Cuba is the second country in the world with more women in Parliament, 53.22 % of deputies are women and also 48.4 % of the members of the Council of State.
The tribute to the women of the world celebrated this day concluded with a live music repertoire with some of the most beautiful and well-known Cuban songs.
