The ceremony for the eighteenth graduation of nationals graduated from Cuban universities was held in Basseterre

Basseterre, October 16, 2023. - As is tradition, this weekend the graduation ceremony of three new professionals from Saint Kitts and Nevis, who studied at Cuban universities, was held in this city; a Doctor of Medicine, a Civil Engineer and a Health Technologist.

The event, organized by the Association of Graduates in Cuba, was chaired by the Prime Minister of the Federation, Honorable Dr. Terrance M. Drew, who is also an active member of this union.

In his central words, Dr. Drew expressed eternal gratitude to Cuba for the training of human capital, while recognizing the great effort that that country makes to continue developing this collaboration policy. In this sense, he condemned the US blockade against the island, and reiterated the absolute support of Saint Kitts and Nevis to Cuba, in any international forum.

Cuban Ambassador David Rivero, also present at the ceremony, during his speech referred to the pride that each new graduation represents for his country, in fulfillment of Fidel Castro's dream. He ratified the commitment of the Cuban government to continue with the humanist vocation developed throughout 64 years of Revolution, by virtue of the interests and needs of brother peoples.

The Prime Minister of the Federation and the Ambassador of Cuba were in charge of presenting the awards to the graduates.

Also were present at the event family and friends of the graduates, members of the Saint Kitts and Nevis-Cuba friendship associations and Cuban residents.
