CHAIRMAN OF THE DANISH PARLIAMENT'S FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE RECEIVES THE CUBAN AMBASSADOR
Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Christian Friis Bach, Chairman of the Danish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, received the Cuban ambassador, Ana Maria Chongo. During the meeting, was discussed the state of relations between the two nations.
The Cuban ambassador provided an update on the complex economic and social situation facing Cuba, stemming from the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed for more than six decades by the US government, with the aim of reversing the socialist project and imposing a government aligned with its interests.
During the conversation, the diplomat also addressed the Cuban government's strong rejection of the deployment of U.S. military forces in the southern Caribbean Sea, an action that represents a serious threat to regional peace and security, undermines the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, and undermines Latin America and the Caribbean's status as a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone and a Zone of Peace.
