Denmark, May 31, 2023. The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael Aastrup Jensen, and representative of the Danish Liberal Party (Venstre), received the GRULAC Ambassadors, at the headquarters of the Parliament, of the Kingdom of Denmark, on “ Folketing”.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Roger López García, addressed various topics of interest in the field of bilateral relations, and the national and international news of our country.
The diplomat from the Greater Antilles explained the features of the Cuban democratic process, after the results of the national elections to elect the deputies of the National Assembly of People's Power, the progress of the political dialogue with the European Union with the recent visit of the High Representative, José Borrell, and the effects caused by the blockade and the inclusion of Cuba in the list of State sponsors of terrorism.
The meeting was an excellent opportunity for the Danish legislators to exchange with the representatives of the Latin American region, which also includes Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
The Folketing (in Danish, Folketinget which means People's Assembly), is the unicameral body that holds the legislative power of Denmark. It meets at Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen, in the center of Copenhagen, which is the seat of the three supreme powers: the executive, the legislative, and the judicial.
