On the occasion of the 59th Anniversary of the Revolution, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe, Vladimir Guerra, gave an interview on Tuesday, January 9, to the local newspaper The Herald. Vladimir recalled Fidel's entry to Havana with the Caravan of Liberty on January 8, 1959, at the head of the Rebel Army. He highlighted the achievements made by Cuba in the economic and social order in 2017, the validity of the thought of the Commander in Chief. From a bilateral point of view, he recalled the friendship and cooperation relationship between Cuba and Zimbabwe since independence, in 1980 in areas such as health, education and the possibility that today is envisaged to expand it to other areas such as sports and biotechnology. He announced the end of the mission of the Medical Brigade that has been providing services in Zimbabwe for three years and announced the arrival of the next brigade, which will be composed of 40 specialists who will be deployed throughout the country. Vladimir reiterated Cuba's position to continue strengthening the historic bonds of friendship that have identified relations between both countries.
