COMMITTEE FOR A DIGNIFIED CHILE – NORWAY
STATEMENT ON CUBA
The Committee for a Dignified Chile-Norway denounces with all firmness and outrage the inhumane, cruel, and brutal blockade imposed by the United States against our sister nation, Cuba.
We unequivocally reject the new executive order of May 1 and the criminal sanctions issued on May 7 by the Trump administration. These measures are not only brutal, they are an act of economic and political warfare against a people who have resisted decades of imperialist aggression. The blockade, far from breaking the courage and resilience of the Cuban people, has only strengthened their fighting spirit and dignity.
We strongly condemn the sanctions against companies operating in Cuba, whether public or private. It is a mockery that the United States, which boasts of defending “economic freedom,” imposes its economic and political tyranny throughout the world. This is imperialism: a criminal system that, despite global rejection, persists in its ruthless attacks.
This genocidal blockade has led our sister nation to face one of the deepest crises since the beginning of the revolution.
We demand absolute respect for the inalienable right of peoples to self-determination and denounce the blatant interference of U.S. imperialism in Cuba's sovereign affairs.
We demand a strong statement from the Norwegian government in defense of Cuban sovereignty.
We demand that the European Union cease its complicity and publicly condemn the United States.
Cuba is an example of internationalist solidarity, always present with its battalion of white coats wherever humanity needs them.
As Chileans residing in Norway, we reaffirm our unwavering struggle and commitment to our sister nations.
Cuba is not alone!
End the blockade now!
