Chinese citizen wanted by Mexico extradited to Mexico.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Statement

On October 23, 2025, following a formal extradition request and by decision of the Cuban government, Chinese citizen Zhi Dong Zhang was handed over to Mexican government authorities.

This individual had been detained in Cuba on July 31, 2025, for crimes committed in Mexico: document forgery and human trafficking, as provided for in the Cuban Penal Code, and was under provisional imprisonment.

He had been a fugitive from Mexican authorities since July 2025, where he was serving a sentence for crimes associated with international drug trafficking.
