The Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste celebrated the start of the new year, an event attended by Ambassador Alina Aldama.

Dili, February 11, 2026. The President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, delivered the keynote address at the reception hosted by the Head of the Chinese Diplomatic Mission, Wang Wenli, to mark the arrival of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Fire Horse. Both speakers, in their remarks, highlighted bilateral relations and the ongoing nature of mutual cooperation.

Members of parliament, government officials, representatives of various institutions, business leaders, and diplomats accredited to the country attended the event. Ambassador Alina Aldama and official José Heredia represented Cuba.
