Kingston, Jamaica, 18 May 2019. The Civil Defense Exercise "Meteoro 2019" to face disaster situations was developed with the participation of more than 300 Cuban health and education collaborators in Jamaica and the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in this country.

As part of this exercise, the management board of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica specified their plans against natural, technological and epidemiological disasters. Likewise, all staff members received theoretical and practical training in actions to be developed in case of earthquakes, hurricanes, intense rainfall, fires and epidemics.

At the completion of the exercise, Cuban Ambassador Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, Head of the State Mission, acknowledged the efforts of the Embassy’s staff members, who, without detracting from their duties, satisfactorily fulfilled the different dynamics of the exercise. She also praised the preparation shown to act in each situation and the usefulness of the experiences acquired throughout the process.
