NASSAU, June 30, 2017.-The Cuban Embassy in The Bahamas held an official farewell ceremony on the occasion of the culmination of the tenure of 13 Cuban educators who were teaching in different islands of the Bahamian archipelago.

In attendance to the event were Sharon P. Pratt-Rolle and Donella Davis, officials of the Bahamas Ministry of Education. In an interview with the media, they highlighted the importance of the presence of Cuban educators in the country and thanked the cooperation provided by Cuba to The Bahamas since 2003.

The Cuban Ambassador Ismara Vargas Walter explained the main results of the brigade and referred to the diversity of subjects they teach.

Currently, the "Felix Varela" educational brigade includes 46 professors. Although 13 of them completed their mission, it is expected that in the next academic year another 18 Cuban professors will be incorporated, as part of the agreement between both nations.
