The exaggerated and aggressive military presence of the United States in the region constitutes a threat against Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole.

With the encouragement of the Secretary of State, the main and immediate target is the violent overthrow of the government of Venezuela through the use of U.S. military force, an extremely dangerous and irresponsible action with unpredictable and incalculable consequences.

The Cuban Ambassador to the Bahamas, Julio César González Marchante, participated in the activities organized by the Bahamian government to commemorate those who died during the two World Wars. Among these activities, he laid a wreath at the monument erected in their memory.

In a convincing reply before the General Assembly, the Cuban delegation denounced Washington's hostile policy, maintained for more than six decades, as the greatest violation of its people's human rights. Cuba called the US accusations of terrorism and human trafficking "cynical" and affirmed that its government has no involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, thus refuting the narrative by the US administration.
