Kingston, Jamaica, 25 November 2021. This afternoon, the thought and work of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution came into the minds and hearts of all members of the Cuban Embassy’s staff in Jamaica. At five in the afternoon, they gathered in the lobby of the Diplomatic Mission to participate in a workshop on the life and work of Fidel Castro Ruz.
Assisted with anecdotes, quotes, songs, photos and videos, they led the audience in a kind of tour of the revolutionary path of the Commander. They talked about his worth as a strategist, his support for the development of culture and sports, the priority he gave to education and well-being of the people, his confidence in children and the youth as the future and most precious asset of the Revolution, and his activism in the international arena, including his brotherhood with Caribbean peoples and leaders.
That is the way how, as the singer-songwriter says, grateful people remember the man who was born in Biran, led the Revolution for more than five decades and attracted the sympathy of crowds for his fidelity to his convictions and the defence of the dispossessed. Five years after Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s passing, Cuba and his friends immortalize his legacy. Fidel's footprint is present in every work of the Revolution, in its achievements in education and health, in the solidarity that has been exercised since its triumph, in caring for the environment, and in every battle that our country fights despite the US blockade. His example urges us to move forward, to face whatever difficulties appear along the way and to defend national sovereignty and independence at the cost of any sacrifice.
Eternal glory to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution!
