Commander-in-Chief's legacy lives on in Jamaica

Kingston, 25 November 2025. The Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica hosted the main event on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the passing of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. Members of the State Mission, the Solidarity Movement and the Cuban community were present, as well as representatives of political forces, social movements and graduates in our country.

In his remarks to those present, Chargé d'Affaires Rolando Dávila Gallardo reaffirmed the relevance of the humanist, solidarity-based and anti-imperialist ideas of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. He emphasised that ‘Fidel continues to ride with us at all times, in our daily actions, in every task, in every achievement of the revolution, in every child who smiles, in every Cuban internationalist doctor who saves lives, in every friend of Cuba who remembers him’.

The documentary ‘Fidel: The Untold Story’ recalled the immense work developed by Fidel as leader of the Cuban Revolution and its impact on Latin America, the Caribbean and the rest of the world.

Those present reiterated their commitment to remain faithful to his work in the year of his centenary, exclaiming with deep conviction: ‘I am Fidel!’
