Nigeria, 25.11.2020. With a deep revolutionary feeling and in remembrance of the legacy of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, the 4th Anniversary of his death was commemorated in Nigeria.
The event was chaired by Comrade Najeem Usman Yasin, Vice President of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) and the Cuban Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Clara M. Pulido Escandell.
After the notes of the National anthems of Cuba and Nigeria, the Secretary General of the NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja, offered the opening remarks of the act, where he referred to the example of Cuba for the world and the need to keep alive the legacy of Fidel for the construction of the future society.
With the presence of Representatives of the NLC, of the different ministries of the country, of Parliament, of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Nigeria, of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, of the Amílcar Cabral Ideological School and numerous friends, multiple voices were raised to highlight the value of the example and action of Fidel for the peoples.
The meeting was also a platform to denounce the blockade of the United States against Cuba and reaffirm the continuity of support for the Cuban Revolution in its fight against it.
A moment of special significance was the presentation of the orchestra of the National Company of Nigeria, led by its artistic director, Comrade Tar Ukoh (Mambissa), where the friendship towards Cuba, the admiration for Fidel and the historical ties between Africa were revealed. and Cuba, also between the African founding fathers and Fidel. In the same way, the documentary by the American director Estela Bravo, entitled: "Anecdotes about Fidel" was exhibited.
The Cuban ambassador Clara Pulido closed the ceremony, in which she thanked the presence and support of all friends of Cuba, highlighting the example and historical legacy of Fidel and in particular the special bond that he built with the sister African nations, of high validity today. Similarly, she reaffirmed the continuity of the united struggle against the US blockade.
Among videos and allegorical images of the life and work of Fidel, dedicated to that giant of universal stature, this important meeting culminated.
