Oslo, January 21, 2026. The Norwegian-Cuban Friendship Association (AANC) held a moving ceremony to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
Cuban Ambassador Hugo Ramos Milanés, in his keynote address, expressed sincere gratitude for the numerous messages of heartfelt condolences and tributes to the 32 Cuban heroes who fell in combat during the recent U.S. aggression against Venezuela.
He also expressed his appreciation for the firm expressions of solidarity with the Cuban Revolution in the face of the most recent and egregious threats from the United States government.
The interventions by representatives of the AANC and other local organizations in solidarity with Latin America and the Caribbean, and especially with Venezuela and Cuba, denounced the fascist nature of the U.S. intervention in Venezuela and the brutal kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. These events demonstrate the U.S. government's absolute contempt for the Charter of the United Nations, international law, and the treaty signed by the nations of the continent declaring the region a Zone of Peace.
Repeated calls were made to strengthen international solidarity and to raise our voices so that we can not only extend the condemnation of these aggressions but also prevent a new U.S. incursion into any other state.
In his address, the ambassador characterized the situation of hardship suffered by the Cuban people as a consequence of the multiple measures to strangle the Cuban economy, which particularly affect the supply of food, fuel, and electricity production. He also denounced the actions against tourism and the medical cooperation that Cuba provides to other nations.
The call to maintain the mobilization in Norway, in coordination with other solidarity movements in Europe and the world, to continue denouncing and undertaking actions that lead to putting an end to the criminal Yankee blockade against the Cuban people, also prevailed in the multiple interventions.
A particularly special moment was the address by the Ambassador of Palestine, Her Excellency Marie Antoinette Sedin, who highlighted the unbreakable bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between the peoples of Cuba and Palestine. In paying tribute to the 32 Cuban heroes who fell in Venezuela and denouncing the brutality of that Yankee aggression, she reaffirmed her people's solidarity with the Cuban Revolution in the face of new threats of aggression.
The day concluded with a moving performance of songs by Latin American troubadours.
