Communiqué of the Chairman of the THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING on the recent actions of non-conventional war against Cuba

1. The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING expresses its concern about the recent actions of non-conventional war carried out against the Republic of Cuba, including the misuse of media aimed at destabilizing and undermining the constitutional order, the rule of law and peace in the Caribbean country.

2. The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING values the work of Cuba in the field of Health and Education with the international community, promoting and implementing international solidarity and cooperation as a valuable member of the UN, and its efforts to improve its socio-economic development in the midst of a 60-year-old U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade.

3. The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING reiterates its commitment to the purposes, principles and provisions of the Charter of the United Nations, the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign States and stresses its support to the promotion of dialogue, tolerance and diversity of political, economic, social and cultural systems.

4. The THAI ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING rejects the Joint Statement on Cuba issued by the U.S. Department of State on July 25, 2021 and looks forward to the U.S. administration taking the necessary actions towards the normalization of relations with neighboring Cuba.
