The Communist Party of Türkiye has expressed, through a letter, its solidarity with the Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba in these difficult times that our country is going through, due to the energy situation and the passage of hurricane Oscar through the region of the Cuban Oriente.
The letter expresses the following:
To the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba October 22, 2024
Dear comrades, We have been closely following the struggle of the Cuban people in recent days against the energy emergency in the country and the extraordinary situation caused by the hurricanes. We extend our condolences to you and the entire Cuban people for those who have lost their lives due to Hurricane Oscar, and our best wishes to the Cuban citizens affected by the floods in the eastern part of the country. We know that the extraordinary conditions that the Cuban people face today are directly related to the economic, commercial and financial blockade by the US. The US blockade, which yesterday prevented Cuba from obtaining oxygen, injectors and respiratory services during the most challenging days of the pandemic, today prevents the acquisition of the necessary equipment to renew and strenghten energy infrastructure. It is clear that the blockade is aimed at burying Cuba in darkness in every sense. We salute the state of Cuba, the Communist Party of Cuba, the search and rescue teams, the electrical workers and the entire Cuban people who are working tirelessly against all these conditions with our feelings of solidarity. The people of Cuba, with their resistance, determination and dedication to the revolution, will not give credence to the agents of imperialism who intend to exploit the latest developments and will overcome these challenges as well. The power of the blockade will not be enough to defeat the revolution and solidarity, and it will never be able to leave Cuba in darkness. Communist Party of Turkey stands with the Communist Party of Cuba and in solidarity with the Cuban people. Reiterating that the US blockade must be ended immediately and Cuba must be immediately removed from the fabricated list of “state sponsors of terrorism”, our party will continue to defend the truth and strengthen solidarity against distortions about Cuba.
