A delegation from the Communist Party of Türkiye (TKP) and the Türkiye-Cuba Friendship Association “José Martí” visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba in Istanbul to convey their deepest condolences to the Cuban people and government following the loss of 32 Cubans who died in combat during the illegal military operation carried out by the United States in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on January 3, 2026, whose objective was to kidnap the constitutional president of that sister nation, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and his wife.
During the meeting, the participating organizations expressed their profound solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela, as well as their strongest rejection of the aggressive, interventionist, and destabilizing policy promoted by the Government of the United States, particularly against the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
They further denounced that such actions constitute a serious violation of international law, the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, and respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples.
The Communist Party of Türkiye and the Türkiye–Cuba Friendship Association “José Martí” reaffirmed their firm commitment to peace, international solidarity, and the defense of sovereign processes, as well as their unwavering support for the Cuban people, highlighting their dignity, resilience, and steadfastness in the face of external aggression.
