CONDEMNATION OF THE BLOCKADE AGAINST CUBA IN GREECE

Convened by the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba, an act condemning the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government more than 60 years ago against the Cuban people, was held on the grounds of the Makronisos Museum in Athens. ,
A group of members of the solidarity movement with Cuba and other people who are in solidarity with the struggle of Cubans against the criminal imperialist blockade, condemned the maintenance of this cruel policy, and demanded its lifting.
Nikos Karandreas, president of the Association, and Nikos Leontidis, member of the Council of the Association itself, made substantial interventions in which they analyzed with multiple and solid arguments how unfair and obsolete this policy is, and the effects it has had on life and the development of the population of the Caribbean island. Both ratified once again the solidarity of the Greek people towards their Cuban brothers and demanded the immediate end of the blockade.
For his part, the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece, Aramís Fuente Hernández, who also spoke at the event, offered various and important elements on the blockade since its inception, even before it was made official in February 1962, the characteristics and forms in which the different US administrations have continuously applied and reinforced this cruel policy and the damage it has caused to the country's economy and to entire generations of Cubans.
Among other attendees, were the member of the Political Bureau of the KKE Giorgos Marinos, Latin Americans residing in Greece and other representatives of solidarity organizations with Cuba.
