Condemnation of the US blockade during Red Summer days in Denmark

In the framework of the "Red Summer" days organized by the Danish Communist Party that took place in Svendborg from July 15 to 19, the blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba was condemned, particularly the Helms-Burton Act and the activation of its Title III, as well as the aggressive escalation of the Trump administration against the Island.

The ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas, participated as a speaker in two political debates of the day, one of them about US aggressions against Cuba and Latin America in the current context; Andreas Bullow, chairman of the organization “Hands off Venezuela” was also a panelist in such discussion. Another panel was devoted to the relations between Cuba and the European Union, which included a denunciation of the extraterritorial consequences of the application of the Helms-Burton Act. Likewise, the president of the Danish-Cuban Association of Friendship, Sven-Erik Simonsen, reminded the appeal endorsed by several Danish personalities and more than 20 organizations from Denmark in favor of lifting the blockade against Cuba, which was addressed recently to the US president and the American congress.

Members of the Danish Communist Party and other political parties, union leaders from different sectors, solidarity friends and representatives of other social organizations were present in the red summer days. (Embacuba Dinamarca)
