Conference in Laos for the 55th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Cuba

As the last activity of the Program of celebrations for the 55th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Cuba, a conference was held in this capital of Vientiane by the Ambassador of Cuba, Pablo Antonio Rodríguez Vidal, on the history and role of our Party. during all these years of Revolution.

With the presence of Comrade Khamphan Phommathat, member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (CC PPRL) and Head of the Department of Propaganda and Promotion, of Comrade Sunthone Xayasack, member of the Central Committee and Head of the Department of International Relations, and Dr. Chaleun Yiapahoer, also a member of the Central Committee, Minister of the Prime Minister's office and President of the Lao-Cuba Friendship Association, this event also had the participation of more than 200 people, including Party officials and different ministries of the country, members of the Friendship Association and Laotian graduates in Cuba.

The Ambassador, after making history from the first Communist Party of Cuba created in 1925 to the present day, also exposed the current situation of the country, the damages caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the US for more than 60 years and dedicated a space to highlight the work of Cuban doctors and health personnel and especially the work carried out by the “Herry Reeve” Contingent in the fight against COVID-19 in several countries of the world. He finally thanked the PPRL for organizing the Program of Activities and for the support that Cuba has always received from the Party, Government and People of Laos.

For her part, Comrade Sounthone, who was in charge of the closing remarks, after congratulating our Party and Government on behalf of the CC PPRL and recognizing the work carried out by Fidel, Raúl and Diaz-Canel, denounced the blockade and said they were convinced that, despite this blockade, Cuba will advance and be victorious. She also thanked the help that Cuba has given to her country since the time of the struggle for Laos' independence and during all these years.

She wished our Party success in its work and especially in its next Congress.

It was a fraternal encounter with many expressions of love and affection towards Cuba.
