Copenhagen, October 3, 2022. The Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, held a discussion with students of the International Master's Degree, from the Center for Science and Commercial Diplomacy (CSCD), for its acronym in English, in this capital.
The Cuban diplomat presented various topics on the current political and economic situation of the island, focused on the development prospects of the nation. He explained the Cuban experience in the treatment of Covid-19, the vaccines produced to combat the disease, the Cuban medical cooperation programs, and the collaboration with other countries to combat the pandemic.
At the diplomatic headquarters, he shared with his interlocutors details of the impact on the Antillean nation, and its inhabitants, of the economic, commercial and financial siege in force for more than six decades, which remains intact after its intensification by the Donald Trump administration with 243 measures, and the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act to accentuate the extraterritorial component of Washington's policy towards Cuba.
Having dealt with the democratic character with which the Constitution of the Republic was endorsed, by millions of Cubans, in 2019, another of the topics discussed was the new Family Code, submitted on September 25 to a popular referendum, and highlighted the character modern and inclusive of the text in view of its objective of guaranteeing more rights to all the inhabitants of the Island.
