Oslo, February 18, 2025. Within the framework of the existing relations of friendship and cooperation between the National Union of Communications, Computing and Electronics Workers of Cuba (SNTCIE) and the Postal and Finance Union of Norway, a delegation of this Norwegian trade union, headed by Cathrine Sæther Ertsås, its vice president, is in Havana these days.
The aforementioned delegation is taking part in training sessions for trade union leaders, which are part of a program of activities planned throughout the current month on the occasion of the Day of the Communications Worker, which is celebrated every year in Cuba on February 24.
The knowledge and experience of the Norwegian trade unionists on issues such as collective bargaining, occupational health and safety, gender equality and youth care are being welcomed and highly appreciated by SNTCIE´s leaders, including its general secretary Erlín Rondón Cedeño, and union leaders from the business group Correos de Cuba (Cuba Post Office) and others operating in the communications sector.
The Norwegian Post and Finance Union belongs to the Union of Municipal and General Employees (Fagforbundet), which at the same time is part of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions LO. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
