A cordial welcome to Cuban health professionals in Jamaica

Authorities of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica officially welcomed, at the headquarters of this institution, a group of forty Cuban health professionals who will render their services in this sister Caribbean nation for a period of three years.

Kingston, Jamaica, 25 November 2019. Authorities of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica officially welcomed, at the headquarters of this institution, a group of forty Cuban health professionals who will render their services in this sister Caribbean nation for a period of three years.

Dr. Gail Hudson, Human Resources Director at the MInistry, and Mrs. Patricia Ingram-Martin, the Ministry's Director of Nursing Service, spoke on behalf of the Jamaican party. Both directors gave a cordial welcome to the Cuban doctors and nurses and thanked Cuba for its historical co-operation with the public health sector in Jamaica, provided under the Technical Agreement for Co-operation currently in force between their respective Ministries of Public Health.

Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, also welcomed the Cuban prosfesionals and encouraged them to uphold the ethical and professional values of the Cuban health system.
