Cuba reports 27 new cases of Covid-19
Havana, Aug 25, 2020.- The four thousand 536 real-time PCR tests analyzed in the last day detected 27 new cases of Covid-19 in Cuba, to add three thousand 744 people, the Ministry of Public Health specified today.
The national director of Epidemiology of that portfolio, Francisco Durán, reported in a press conference that until yesterday the laboratories accumulated a total of 369 thousand 889.
It also reported that no deaths were recorded from SARS-Cov2, so they remain at 91, thanks to the action protocols, the drugs applied and the effort of professionals in intensive care units.
Durán explained that the 27 confirmed cases 26 are Cubans and one foreigner, 12 women women and 15 men, of which 11 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, and 24 contacts of previously diagnosed patients.
For clinical-epidemiological surveillance, 1,138 patients are admitted, 548 appear as suspects and 41 remain under surveillance, while 549 are active patients, of which 532 have a stable clinical evolution, and three are reported in critical condition and 14 are serious, Durán explained. .
Since the first case was made known on March 11, the government and health authorities are working on a plan to stop the spread of this disease, and 3,102 have recovered and received their medical discharge, as a result of five months of confrontation with Covid-19.
Durán insisted on the complexity of Covid-19 due to its rapid transmission and high risk for all people, hence the repeated call for responsible behavior in compliance with isolation, protection and epidemiological surveillance measures.
