Courtesy Visit at the Embassy of Cuba in New Zealand

Wellington, April 22, 2026.- The Ambassador of Cuba received on a courtesy visit Ms Kayla Polamalu, Second Secretary-designate to the Embassy of New Zealand in Mexico, which is concurrently accredited to Cuba.

During the cordial exchange, the New Zealand diplomat received an update on Cuba’s current realities and the main issues on the bilateral agenda. Both sides also discussed opportunities to continue strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and New Zealand.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of common interest at the bilateral and international levels, while reaffirming the shared willingness to continue promoting constructive dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Also participating in the meeting was Hal Seller, Foreign Policy Officer in the Americas Division of New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), responsible for Cuba and other countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Embassy of Cuba appreciates this visit, which contributes to strengthening the longstanding ties of respect and cooperation between both countries.
