THE CRIMINAL ECONOMIC, COMMERCIAL AND FINANCIAL BLOCKADE, IMPOSED ON CUBA FOR ALMOST 60 YEARS HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO PREVENT US FROM CONTINUING TO HELP THE SISTER NATIONS OF THE SOUTH.

With the presence of a representative of the Training Division of the Service Commission Department of the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and of a large group of parents and relatives, the Embassy of Cuba in this Caribbean country, celebrated the official farewell of 12 students Vincentians, benefited with scholarships granted by the Cuban Government, to study General Medicine, Stomatology, as well as to specialize in pediatrics, in the case of two graduates of the ELAM.

In her speech, the Cuban Ambassador, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, said that, in parallel with the Cuban medical collaboration, which has already turned 55 years old, Cuba has developed an extensive training program of doctors, nurses and health technicians to support the efforts of the sister nations of the South in the formation of their own specialists to guarantee, expand and perfect quality medical care for their citizens.

In this context, the diplomat said that the 12 young Vincentians who leave to study in Cuba will have the privilege of knowing the people who have resisted the longest blockade in history without surrendering and who, far from being intimidated by the hard tests, are strengthened an reinvents itself every day, convinced that a better world is possible.
