The Cuba Ambassador to Kenya, Inés Fors Fernández, met Wafaa Saeed Abdelate, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Somalia.
The UNICEF representative emphasised in the work of the organization in bolstering the support for Somalia’s government efforts and initiatives aimed at helping children among the communities across the African country.
The Cuban Ambassador highlighted the excellent relations between the island and the Children's Fund and recognized the important contribution of UNICEF to humanitarian assistance.
Cuba's important achievements for the well-being of its girls and boys were underlined. In particular, reference was made to South-South cooperation as a central feature of Cuban foreign policy which could be a significant complement to UNICEF projects in several developing countries, especially in the health care field.
