Cuba became one of the first signatory countries to the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, the opening ceremony of which took place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.
The so-called Hanoi Convention, adopted in December 2025 after five years of intense negotiations, was signed by Cuban Minister of Justice Oscar Silvera.
The document consists of nine chapters and 71 articles that define cybercrimes and establish mechanisms for international cooperation in the areas of investigation, extradition, confiscation and management of criminal assets, witness protection, and victim support, among other aspects.
