THE BAHAMAS, 12 May 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, made a courtesy call on the Hon. Dr. Daniel Johnson, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture of the Caribbean country.
Overall, both sides discussed the most important aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, while they committed to further strengthening the relations between Cuba and The Bahamas in the areas of culture and sport.
The Minister said that this year he will attend the Caribbean Festival in Santiago de Cuba, with a wide Bahamian delegation which will accompany him. Likewise, he highlighted the cultural exchange between the two countries and proposed further actions to diversify and expand the aforementioned exchange.
For her part, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the positive level of the links between the two ministries; while agreed on the importance of resuming spaces to ensure that both peoples share their culture and identity.
The Dr. Daniel Johnson, who is also a member of the Bahamian Parliament, has visited Cuba on other occasions invited by his Cuban counterpart and to attend several events held on the island.
