THE BAHAMAS, 4 May 2017. -The Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, held a meeting with the Hon. Allyson Maynard Gibson, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas at the headquarters of this institution.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to work together and ensure the proper implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on migration issues between the two countries.
The Cuban diplomat stressed the importance of the Rounds of Technical Talks on Migration that are held every year; referring to the last edition who was held in The Bahamas on 8 and 9 December 2016.
For its part, the Attorney General referred to the strength of the bilateral relations between both countries and highlighted the quality of Cuba's collaboration with her country in different areas of interest. She also referred to the CARICOM as an important mechanism for the defense of the interests of the countries of the region.
On this occasion were also present at the meeting Marco Rolle, Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Attorney General, Antonette Bonamy, Director of Legal Affairs and Vanesa Ortega Guerrero, Second Secretary of the Cuban Embassy in The Bahamas.
