Cuba and The Bahamas discuss issues of common interest.

Nassau, 7 April 2018. The Cuban capital will be the venue for Technical Talks between the Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) and the Cuban Border Patrol (TGF, in Spanish) on 8 and 9 April.

The Bahamian delegation, headed by the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country, Sharon Brennen-Haylock, is also composed of senior RBDF officials, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bahamian Embassy in Havana, as well as experts from the Office of the Attorney General. The Cuban delegation, on the other hand, will be headed by Colonel Jorge Samper Maura, Chief of TGF and consists of officers of specialized forces and officials of the Ministry of the Interior.

The parties will discuss various topics of common interest, including actions of cooperation to face common challenges. On 30 November 2019, Cuba and The Bahamas will celebrate 45 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relations.
