Nassau, 17 September 2018.- In a cordial meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, the Foreign Minister of that Caribbean nation, Honorable Darren Allan Henfield and the Cuban Ambassador, Ismara Vargas Walter, reiterated the will of their countries to consolidate cooperation ties in education, health, agriculture and national security matters. While reviewing the topics of the common agenda, both parties agreed on the excellent state of bilateral relations.
Minister Henfield referred positively to the exchange of the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez with Caribbean leaders, during the 39th regular meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community held in Jamaica last July.
Cuba and The Bahamas established diplomatic relations on 30 November 1974.
