THE BAHAMAS, 6 December 2016.As part of the climate of bilateral cooperation and understanding between Cuba and The Bahamas, the IV Round of Technical Talks on Migration between the two countries will be held on 8 and 9 December in Nassau, capital of The Bahamas.
The visiting Cuban delegation will be led by Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, head of the Department of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, as well as other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Division of Immigration, Identification and Aliens. The Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, will also be part of the Cuban delegation.
The Bahamian delegation will be led by Sharon Brennen-Haylock, Director General of the Bahamian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation is also composed by officials of the Department of Immigration, the office of the Attorney-General and Minister of Legal Affairs, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) and other officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
These technical talks are held annually. On 12 January 1996, Cuba and The Bahamas signed a Memorandum of Understanding on migration issues.
