Antigua and Barbuda. The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cuba and the member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on multi-destination tourism, during the recently concluded CACRICOM-Cuba Summit. On the basis of mutual interest in the increase of tourist arrivals, the "Parties" agreed, among other aspects, to unite the countries / destinations, promote the development of air connections between Caribbean destinations, collaborate in the development of the programs and in the promotion of multi-destination packages in the markets of the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas region and facilitate the exchange of information.
For its part, the Agency for Management of Emergencies and Disasters in the Caribbean (CDEMA) and the National Staff of the Civil Defense of Cuba (EMNDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to increase cooperation in matters of disaster reduction.
Both parties signed this instrument in the interest of increasing the resilience of our communities in the face of disaster events, fundamentally with regard to the preparation of capacities for prevention, preparedness, response and recovery, including rehabilitation and reconstruction and humanitarian assistance.
