Suva, July 19, 2026- We are celebrating the 24th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Fiji (formalized on July 19, 2002). This is a fitting occasion to reaffirm our interest in strengthening ties between our countries. Both nations are celebrating more than two decades of friendship, solidarity, and mutual respect. Over the years, bilateral collaboration has established itself as South-South cooperation, particularly in the areas of public health and education, through the training of Fijian professionals. As small island developing states, Cuba and Fiji share a common vision in multilateral forums, advocating for global justice and joining forces to address major global challenges, such as climate change and sustainable development.
