Fidel, as we learned to call Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz from birth, did not write any textbooks or educational materials on foreign policy.
His teachings, as in almost all the countless activities in which he was involved, developed in the heat of the daily struggle leading a country in revolution, a people who, with the revolutionary triumph, achieved true independence for the first time.
Independent Experts and Special Rapporteurs of the Human Rights Council Demand that the United States Cease Threats and Hostile Acts Against Cuba
Geneva, August 6, 2026.- Special Rapporteurs and Independent Experts of the UN Human Rights Council issued a strong statement today condemning the United States’ measures against Cuba, denouncing them as an attempt to alter the constitutional order of a sovereign state through threats and coercion.
In this context, they urged the international community and civil society to act swiftly to prevent the establishment of a “silent Gaza” on the Island.

The Conference on Strategic Studies is an academic forum dedicated to the systematic analysis of contemporary international processes, with special attention to power dynamics, structural transformations of the international system, and the strategies deployed by States and other actors in contexts of change and uncertainty.

Havana, July 25, 2026. — In an emotional ceremony, young people from various countries around the world celebrated the successful completion of their higher education as they received their medical degrees in Cuba. Notable among the graduates are Dr. Karen Neva Ehmes, from the Federated States of Micronesia, and Dr. Mwerunte Terikaua, from Kiribati.
