Havana, July 25, 2026. — In an emotional ceremony, young people from various countries around the world celebrated the successful completion of their higher education as they received their medical degrees in Cuba. Notable among the graduates are Dr. Karen Neva Ehmes, from the Federated States of Micronesia, and Dr. Mwerunte Terikaua, from Kiribati.

Cuba condemns at the United Nations the impact of the blockade and the energy siege on sustainable development
New York, 11 July 2026.- The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the UN, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to a fair and inclusive energy transition based on the strengthening of multilateralism and international cooperation. The ambassador addressed this Friday’s parallel event “Accelerating Energy System Innovation and Transition for equity and resilience in support of global sustainable development” held in the framework of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
