Mr. President,
The United States claims that there is neither a blockade nor an energy siege against Cuba. The Special Rapporteur's report exposes them as liars.
The Human Rights Council will examine the impact of the United States blockade on the human rights of the people of Cuba
Geneva, 8 September 2026.- The UN Human Rights Council will examine tomorrow, Wednesday, the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade and the energy siege imposed by the Government of the United States on the human rights of the Cuban people.
In this context, the report containing the findings of the official visit to Cuba by the Special Rapporteur on Unilateral Coercive Measures (UCMs) will be presented for the Council’s consideration.
