Members of the Cuba-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group agreed on Tuesday, via videoconference, to strengthen ties between the legislative bodies of both countries.
The Cuban delegation, made up of deputies Ernesto Corvo Vizcaíno and Lisset González García, shared the results of our country in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the achievement of having three vaccines and two vaccine candidates against the new coronavirus and other medicines for the treatment of patients.
In turn, he thanked Greece for the vote in favor of the Cuban resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government, presented at the United Nations General Assembly; as well as to the Greek legislators for signing and supporting the initiative to request that the Nobel Peace Prize be awarded to the contingent of Cuban health professionals "Henry Reeve."
The Cuban deputies delved into the effects of the US blockade and the recent aggressions promoted by Washington against our people. They also reiterated the invitation to the Hellenic Parliamentary Friendship Group to visit our nation.
Both parties agreed on the importance of continuing to promote bilateral exchanges. The Greece-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group is made up of Dionysios Aktypis (President), Ioannis Bournous (Vice President), Yannis Gkiokas (Secretary), among other members.
