Kingston, November 7th, 2018.-  Last November 6th, 2018, the second round of migratory talks was celebrated in this capital between the delegations of Cuba and Jamaica, presided over, respectively,  by Ambassador Ernesto Soberon Guzman, director of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Alison Stone Roofe, Under Secretary for Bilateral, Regional and Hemispheric Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

During the meeting, held within a cordial, frank and cooperation context, the parts assessed the behaviour of the migratory flow between Cuba and Jamaica and advanced on the negotiation of the Memorandum of Understanding in the referred area.

Both delegations acknowledge the complexity of the migratory phenomenon at present, the common challenges and the necessity to strengthen the mechanisms for bilateral cooperation.

Cuba and Jamaica reaffirmed the willingness and compromise of their respective governments to carry out joint actions aiming at guaranteeing a regular, safe and orderly flow between both nations.
