Cuba and Jamaica foresee more collaboration in Tourism

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, November 27th, 2017.Cuban and Jamaica foresee the strengthening of the cooperation and exchange of experiences in the area of tourism, economic sphere that is of key importance for both Caribbean nations.

During a meeting between the Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, Edmund Barttlet, and the Ambassador of Cuba in this capital, Inés Fors Fernánez, held at this ministry´s venue, both authorities coincided on the necessity to increase the collaboration in tourism, the main engine of the two countries´ economies.

The Jamaican Minister expressed interest on the affectations caused by Hurricane Irma in Cuba, in particular to the tourist facilities in the north coast. On this particular, Minister Barttlet was satisfied to know on the intense work to recover the hotel´s capacities prior to the beginning of the high season.

Likewise, the Cuban Ambassador praised the experience and quality achieved by Jamaican in the tourism industry, making emphasis in the fact that her country could widely benefit from a potential bilateral exchange.

Furthermore, the Cuban diplomat wished Minister Barttlet success in the celebration of the international conference on Tourism to be celebrated in Montego Bay, this week.
