Cuba and Kenya vow to strengthen bilateral relations

Nairobi, May 11, 2015. Director General for Bilateral Affairs at Cuban Chancery, Gerardo Peñalver Portal, was received by the Political and Diplomatic Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, and President of the Parliamentary Committee of Foreign Affairs and Defense, who was accompanied by 12 legislators.
During the meeting with Ambassador Ben H.O. Ogutu, the parts analyzed the ways to strengthen the current relations int he political, diplomatic and cooperation spheres, as well as between the Parliaments of cuba and Kenya.

The Cuba diplomat conveyed an update on Cuban reality, in particular, the actualization of the ecnomic model, the process of reestablishment of the diplomatic relations with United States, as well as the political and economic situation in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Upon concluding his visit, Ambassador Peñalver met at Cuban embassy in Kenya with executives of the Friendship Association Cuba-Kenya; the Committee for the Liberation of the Cuban Five  and the end of the blockade, and urged them to increase the efforts to achieve the bockade elimination.
