Cuba and Kiribati exchange on the development of bilateral relations

Cuban Ambassador (center) to Fiji received his counterpart from Kiribati

Suva, October 30. The Cuban Ambassador to Fiji, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago, received his Kiribati counterpart, David Teaabo, and officials from the Kiribati Embassy in this capital on Friday afternoon, with whom he held a fruitful working meeting. In a cordial atmosphere, the participants evaluated the progress of bilateral relations and discussed issues of regional and international interest at length.

After reiterating the gratitude to Cuba for the training of young people from his country as health professionals, Ambassador Teaabo outlined the existing potential for the development of new areas of cooperation, specially biotechnology and climate change.

On his side, the highest rank diplomatic representative from Cuban here ratified the will to strengthen current cooperation projects in health and implement new actions on issues of common interest, based on the growing challenges faced by Small Island Developing States.

Rojas Lago explained the recent measures adopted by the United States government, which further intensify the criminal policy of economic blockade in the midst of the complex situation generated by the COVID19 pandemic and causes serious damage to the Cuban family.
