Cuba and Malaysia exchange on the development of parliamentary relations

Kuala Lumpur, July 4 – The ambassador of Cuba to Malaysia, Ibete Fernández Hernández, received the chairman and vice-chair of the senate council of the Malaysian Senate, Dato Sri Khairuddin Abd Samad and Dato Mohd Suhaimi Hj Abdullah at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission.

During the meeting the parties addressed the need and possibility of closer parliamentary ties between Cuba and Malaysia, as well as the importance of having a mechanism of exchange that allows both countries to support each other in the forums of the sector.

The Malaysian parliament is bicameral, composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate is responsible for promoting bilateral relations with other parliaments.
