Cuba and Mongolia for closer cooperation ties in the biotechnology sector.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. May 17, 2018. Organized by Mr. Ya.Tumurbaatar, Rector of the National University of Mongolia and the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Mongolia, a panel of analysis and discussion “The ways to develop more effectively cooperation between Mongolia and Cuba in the Biotechnology sector” was developed in the afternoon of yesterday. Professors and researchers from the National University of Mongolia, the State University of Natural Sciences of Mongolia, the Agrarian University of Mongolia, the University of Medical Sciences, as well as the Institutes of Veterinary and Plant Research participated in the event. Also present was the Director of the Division of Medical Services, Safety and Quality, of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia. They were also professors from the faculties of biology and engineering, sciences and energy consumption of the National University of Mongolia.

The Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia, Raúl Delgado Concepción made a presentation about the development of the Cuban biotechnology industry and the production of medicines, and how this development is embedded in the achievements of the Cuban health system. The Ambassador also participated in the analysis that the Mongolian researchers and scientists subsequently made of how to improve relations of cooperation between the Cuban and Mongolian research centers.

The Rector of the National University of Mongolia Mr. Ya.Tumurbaatar participated during the month of February this year, in the 2018 University Congress, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education in Cuba, a visit that allowed him to meet and meet in Cuba with the main research centers and sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Havana for joint cooperation between both academic institutions.
