Abuja, May 5, 2024.- Within the framework of the celebration of International Women's Day, the Ambassador of Cuba in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmero, held a meeting with the Minister of Tourism of Nigeria, Mrs. Lola Ade-John.
The Nigerian Minister of Tourism deeply appreciated the visit because she recognized the tourist potential that the island has and the prestige that supports it at an international level. She expressed her interest in visiting Cuba because it has always been on her list of destinations to visit. She highlighted the Yoruba heritage that existed in Cuba as a consequence of colonialism and suggested it would be a good starting point for tourism relations between both states.
Likewise, issues regarding the possibility of cooperation between both countries were addressed and future exchanges should be carried out between both nations to achieve mutual growth in this sector.
On the Cuban side, the Ambassador conveyed congratulations on March 8 and said that in Cuba we would receive her with open arms because both Nigerians and Cubans were part of a great family intertwined by love, culture, customs and traditions. The moment was favorable to extend the invitation to participate in the International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2024, which will be held from May 2 to 5 in the Jardines del Rey.
